Set within a tranquil woodland setting in Enborne, this carefully considered extension to a Grade II listed cottage provides a new open-plan kitchen and utility space while respecting the character and proportions of the original dwelling. The design adopts a restrained architectural language, using carefully detailed timber cladding and complementary materials that respond both to the host building and the wider rural vernacular. Large areas of glazing strengthen the relationship between the interior and surrounding landscape, bringing natural light deep into the new living spaces and framing views of the garden and woodland beyond. Particular attention has been paid to the scale, detailing and craftsmanship of the extension, ensuring the addition sits comfortably alongside the historic cottage while providing a contemporary and practical family living environment.
