PROJECT STATUS BUILT

31 Park Street, Hungerford involved the sensitive extension and conversion of a former Victorian police station within the Hungerford Conservation Area and the North Wessex Downs National Landscape.

The scheme transformed the redundant building into 4no. two-bedroom self-contained flats and 1no. two-bedroom dwelling through the careful restoration of the original architecture, removal of unsympathetic later additions, and introduction of contemporary extensions designed to complement the historic character of the property. Particular attention was given to scale, materials, roof forms and detailing to ensure the development preserved and enhanced the surrounding streetscape.

The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can successfully repurpose heritage buildings to provide sustainable new housing while respecting local character and context. Planning permission was successfully secured for the scheme.
