LOCATION GLOUCESTERSHIRE

PROJECT TYPE RURAL DEVELOPMENT

CLIENT CROWN ESTATE

Working in partnership with Knight Frank, Edge Architecture undertook the measured survey, feasibility assessment and preparation of planning applications for the conversion of various redundant agricultural units on the Crown Estate. Constructed predominantly of natural stone with traditional corrugated roof coverings, many barns offered significant potential for sensitive adaptive re-use. The project involved evaluating the condition, heritage value and development constraints of the sites, exploring viable conversion options, and developing proposals that retained their agricultural character while delivering sustainable new uses appropriate to their rural setting.
