Edge Architecture undertook the measured survey, feasibility assessment and preparation of a planning application for the conversion of a group of redundant agricultural barns on the Crown Estate. Constructed predominantly of natural stone with traditional corrugated roof coverings, the barns offered significant potential for sensitive adaptive re-use. The project involved evaluating the condition, heritage value and development constraints of the buildings, exploring viable conversion options, and developing proposals that retained their agricultural character while delivering sustainable new uses appropriate to their rural setting.
