Planning permission was secured for the sensitive renovation and extension of the pavilion at Inkpen Memorial Playing Field on behalf of Inkpen Parish Council. The scheme enhances an important community sports facility through the extension and refurbishment of the existing hall and changing rooms, alongside new secure sports storage and wider accessibility improvements. Working closely with local residents, stakeholders and the appointed contractor, the design sought to improve functionality, thermal performance and appearance while respecting the rural character of the site through the use of traditional materials including timber weatherboarding. Following planning approval, we continued to work collaboratively with the builder through the technical design and construction phases to help deliver the project from concept through to completion. The upgraded facilities support a broader range of community and sporting activities, helping to strengthen the long-term role of the playing fields within village life.
“Peter worked with me to make the most of a village pavilion with a limited budget. I had never previously been involved with the development of a public building and Peter was so supportive from the initial design to the planning application and the development of the building itself. His design for the building was brilliant ensuring we made the most of the facility and its view over the playing fields. It has been much admired by all the teams who use the facility and the community who use the building for events. I could not have done the project without his support and the design of the building is something I feel very proud to have been able to deliver.”
