Set within the rural landscape of Inkpen, Marchwood is a bespoke five-bedroom replacement dwelling designed to respond sensitively to its countryside setting while delivering a contemporary family home of exceptional quality. The project involved the demolition of the existing house and outbuildings, replacing them with a carefully proportioned new residence and detached garage that draw upon traditional architectural forms and materials found within the local area.

The design combines classic detailing with modern living requirements, creating a home that feels both timeless and highly functional. Externally, the house adopts a restrained and elegant appearance, helping it integrate naturally into its surroundings and giving the impression of a long-established country home. Internally, the layout has been carefully arranged to provide generous living spaces, strong connections to the garden and landscape, and flexible accommodation suited to modern family life.
