From Refusal to Approval
After several years of unsuccessful attempts to obtain planning permission by others, we took a fresh approach including careful discussion with the parish council and other stakeholders. Planning permission was successfully secured on appeal for the construction of four sustainable family homes in Cold Ash, Berkshire. The successful appeal overturned West Berkshire Council’s refusal and highlights the importance of persistence, robust planning arguments and a well-considered design response in delivering complex residential developments.
The scheme comprises two semi-detached three-bedroom houses and two detached four-bedroom houses, each with its own car port. Carefully integrated into the village context, the development responds positively to the surrounding character and landscape setting while providing attractive, energy-efficient homes for modern family living.
